Survey on vaccination against COVID-19
Following the Covid-19 pandemic which spread around the world for several months, many athletes were vaccinated in order to protect themselves against infections and to limit the spread of the virus and sometimes in response to vaccination requirements for participation in international competitions. However, some vaccines can have repercussions on sports practice. The impact of vaccination against Covid-19 on performance remains unknown.
The aim of this project was to assess the (subjective) impact of vaccination on athlete performance, by the mean of an anonymous questionnaire. This questionnaire was addressed to Olympic-level athletes who fulfilled the criteria for participation in the Tokyo 2020 Games. The questionnaire was widely relayed by the French, Luxembourg, Belgian and Canadian National Olympic Committees.
In total, almost 300 athletes answered to the survey. The results of the study will be available here soon.
